The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8448 on 1/13/09, as the stock market fell on earnings news from Alcoa ( AA ) and fears that 2009 earnings will be less then anticipated. The S&P 500 hit key support at 860-863 and bounced off these levels only to retest in the final hour of trading. The Dow Jones has now closed below support of 8500 for the second straight day....very bearish. Citigroup and Morgan Stanley are set to announce the brokerage deal sometime today or tomorrow. Citi stock was up 3% after being down more then 7% in early trading this morning. Jp Morgan ( JPM ) announced last night that they will release their earnings January 15, 2009.
