Stocks to Watch - 2/5/10 - Stock Market Investing Ideas

Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CYCC) - Shares of Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. were up over 10% on Thursday after an upgrade from Roth Capital. If the market wasn't down so much, the stock would have gone a lot higher. I plan to buy the stock the next time it breaks up through the high of the day. Resistance $2.44

Conolog Corp. (CNLG) - CNLG was also on fire Thursday morning but then broke through the low of the day and tanked. This is a stock worth watching into next week given the huge swings. I plan to buy the stock the next time it breaks above the high of the day.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRIUS XM Radio Inc almost tested $0.80 before bouncing during the afternoon. The 10 day moving average is now located at $0.80 so this would be a great area to start buying if you like SIRI right now.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM briefly spiked above $68 Thursday but then the sellers took over. I would be a buyer of a pullback to $64 which is where the 50 day moving average is located.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - AMD broke below $7.50 again as the stock market tanked. The next buy zone for a bounce is located between $6.75 - 7.00.

Alcoa, Inc. (AA) - Aloca is trading back below the 10 day moving average. I would be a buyer of any pullback to the 200 day moving average located at $12.36 with a stop at $12.23.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG fell below the $23 support level on Thursday. At this point, the stock could easily fall to $20 or lower if the stock market continues to drop. However, I now plan to buy AIG when it breaks above the $24.50 resistance level and add on a break above $26.02.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation fell back below $15 on Thursday. Support is now located at $14.71 which is the 200 day moving average as well as $14.11 which was the previous low. BAC hasn't traded below the 200 day moving average since July 2009.

Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAZ was on fire Thursday as the stock market broke down. FAS is nearing support around $65 but a close below $63.80 would be bearish. If FAS closes below $63.80 I will look to buy below $60.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Support = $1.12 - Resistance = $1.28

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Support = $0.91 - Resistance $1.04

Apple Inc. (AAPL) tested $200 yesterday but could not hold it. The stock also failed to close back above the 10 day moving average. Support is around $193 right now which I feel is a great place to add to a long position. Having said that, a break below $190 would be bearish and this is where I'd place my stop loss order. A close above $200 would be bullish, a close below $190 would be bearish.

Stocks to Watch - 2/4/10 - Stock Market Investing Ideas

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) - Shares of Pacific Ethanol fell almost 15% in early trading on Wednesday but then reversed 30% off the low. Keep an eye on PEIX for Thursday. A break above $2.30 would be bullish.

Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SOMX) - I am also watching shares of Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. on Thursday. SOMX fell short of the $2.98 resistance level so if the stock breaks above $2.98, I will be jumping in. No news that I can find

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC rallied on some nice volume Wednesday. I am watching resistance located at $1.24. If the stock breaks above this level, you could see a nice pop. The FDA advisory panel is a week away.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - Shares of Sirius XM Radio Inc finally pulled back Wednesday after a huge run from $0.68 to $0.95. I would be a buyer of SIRI below $0.80 which is where the 10 day moving average is located.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM continues to break out after several upgrades this week. The stock is nearing the key resistance level located at $70.09 which is the 200 day moving average.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - AMD is now trapped in a range between $7.50 & 8.00. The 10 day moving average is all the way down to $8.03 and the stock hasn't closed above this level since $9.75. If you are looking to get long AMD, I'd wait for a close back over $8.00.

Alcoa, Inc. (AA) - Alcoa is trading back over the 10 day moving average ( currently located at $13.42 ). Resistance is located at $13.90, a break above that level would be bullish. I would also be a buyer of another pullback to the 200 day moving average.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG almost staged a huge short squeeze on Wednesday but failed again at $24.50. I plan to buy AIG when the stock breaks back above $24.50 resistance.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation briefly traded back over the 50 day moving average on Wednesday. Keep an eye on $15.69 for Thursday.

Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS continues to fail at $75. If you think this rally will soon fail, It would be a good time to jump into FAZ. I would be a buyer of FAS on any pullback below $69.

1 and 3 Month Libor Rates 2/4/10 Today's Libor Rates

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 2/4/10 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.228% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.249%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.172%. As you can see, Libor Rates changed today, February 4, 2010. While the overnight & 1 month libor rates dropped, 3 month libor rate stayed the same.
