The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10236 on 1/27/10, as the stock market traded most of the day lower but surged in the final hour of trading. The S&P 500 bounce off of the 1080-1085 support level I have been talking about for weeks now. This is a great sign of far as the stock market technicals go. Follow up buying during the rest of the week would be a very positive sign for the short term.
Apple Inc (AAPL) released the IPAD Tablet computer device today. The stock hit $200 and then bounced back to $210 after the pricing for the device was lower then expected. The Apple IPAD will start at $499 per device.
Earnings will be the story for the rest of the week. Tomorrow we will receive earnings out of Potash, Ford, and Amazon.com.

Wednesday, during regular trading hours, there were many stocks that continued to break out to the upside. Below is a list of stocks that are worth watching for January 28, 2010. Conolog Corp. (CNLG) - Conolog was the hot stock on Wednesday after the company released the following news: Conolog Announces Start of Production of its "GlowWorm" Fiber Optic Detector. CNLG only has an 8 million market cap so the volatility remains high in the stock which is good for trading.
Conexant Systems Inc. (CNXT) - Shares of Conexant Systems Inc. pulled back on Wednesday and are testing support around $4.00. I would be a buyer below $3.80. Upside resistance is located between $4.50-$4.58.
Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) - Pacific Ethanol shares are testing $2 again on very low volume. PEIX remains high on my radar due to the recent run up on heavy volume. I plan to buy PEIX on a break above $2.30 and add more on a break above $2.65.
SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - I would be buying SIRI on another correction below $0.70. A break out will occur if SIRI can break to a new 52 week high located at $0.78.
Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM continues to stabilize but trades below all three major moving averages. If RIMM can close above $64, I think it has the chance to retest the $67-$68 resistance area. I own RIMM and will add to my position below $60.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (GMCR) - Green Mountain Coffee is stalling out between $79-$81 before earnings on Wednesday night. I am long GMCR and will be holding my stock into earnings. I am expecting a solid report out of Green Mountain but I think it will all come down to earnings guidance. If I get the chance to buy under $74, I will do so in the coming days. I am a big fan of the extra bold 10% kona blend K-Cups!
Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - AMD is still hovering around $8.00 but is now below both the 10 & 50 day moving averages. As long as AMD remains above $7.50, I like the stock. A break below $7.50 would be bearish but would them buy AMD when it broke back above the high of the day. AMD is mostly going down right now due to the stock market sell off.
Alcoa, Inc. (AA) - For those waiting on the sidelines for an opportunity to buy shares of Alcoa Inc.... the 200 day moving average is located at $12.25.
DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Not much new information on DRYS right now....support is located at $5.80 while resistance is located at $6.20. A break above $6.20 would be very bullish.
American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG was all over the place on Wednesday after the bailout hearing in Washington was on CNBC most of the trading day. Support is now located at $23 while resistance is located at $25.19.
Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation is now having trouble holding the $15 level. Support is at the 200 day moving average located at $14.54. A close below this level would be bearish. On the upside, resistance is located at $15.27 & $15.52.
Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS sold off Tuesday afternoon and displayed some weakness Wednesday morning. The stock is now trading around $70. I plan to add to my position if the stock falls below $67. I usually will sell into any $3-$4 rallies.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) hit resistance yesterday between $214-$215 after posting better then expected earnings. The rally yesterday was more because of today's Apple Event. Apple has closed four straight days below the 10 day moving average but remains over the 50 day. At this point, the stock could go either way. Resistance is now located between $214-$215.59 but if Apple does close above $215.59, a new break out should occur.

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 1/27/10 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.231% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.249%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.171%. As you can see, Libor Rates did not change today, January 27, 2010. While 1 & 3 month libor rates stayed the same, the overnight libor rate went up.
