Stocks to Buy 12/15/09 December 15, 2009

Monday, during regular trading hours, there were many stocks that continued to break out to the upside. Below is a list of stocks that are worth watching for December 15, 2009. Stocks to Watch - 12/15/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SNSS) - SNSS had another nice day Monday following the huge runup last week. Resistance is located between $2.34-$2.43. A break above that area should spark another rally. Support is located at $1.80

Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CYCC) - CYCC had an OK day but volume wasn't anywhere near Friday's volume. CYCC hit $1.69 but if you blinked you would have missed it. There was a large amount of selling in the $1.60's. At this point, I'm waiting until CYCC breaks above $1.70 before I jump in again.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Support = $1.28 - Resistance = $1.43

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Support = $1.04 - Resistance $1.14, $1.20

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - I continue to watch RIMM, earnings are due out Thursday. RIMM went up in the morning on a downgrade which is very bullish. Resistance is back at $65, support is at $63.

Netlist Inc. (NLST) - The volume continues to stay with NLST. This is a stock that looks to be preparing for another move higher. Keep an eye on resistance at $6.15, a break above this level with volume could take it into the $7's.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK) - CHK is a stock to buy if you like the XOM/XTO deal that was announced this morning. Chesapeake has valuable natural gas property in the Haynesville Shale - Marcellus Shale - Barnett Shale - Fayetteville Shale - Chattanooga Shale - Huron Shale. CHK should be trading in the $30's in my opinion.

Petrohawk Energy Corporation (HK) - I would also check out HK which owns some very nice Natural Gas assets in the USA. Petrohawk even has some nice acreage in the Eagle Ford Shale which is located in South Texas.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation is showing some nice strength despite the lagging bank sector. I plan to buy BAC when the stock closed back over It's 50 day moving average now located at $16.12. Until then, I will wait.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG hit $27.50 but then exploded back to $30 on Monday. $30 is now resistance on the upside, a break above $30 would be bullish.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS broke above $72.58 on Monday and is trending higher. The volume is light which is concerning but I like the stock for a trade as long as it stays above $70. I would like to buy the stock for the long term below $70. I would not be buying FAZ right now unless I saw the S&P 500 fall below 1080.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS is running back to the 50 day moving average located at $16.32. A close over this level would be very bullish.

AOL, Inc. (AOL) - AOL has gone from $23 to $26.30 in a few days. Keep an eye on this stock!

Apple Inc. (AAPL) closed back below the 50 day moving average ( $196.37 ) but is testing this level in pre market trading. The new resistance area has moved up to $199.70-$200. I think Apple could surge if we saw a close above that area. On the downside, pullbacks to $190 are attractive with a stop at $188.

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 12/14/09 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.233% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.254%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.178%. As you can see, Libor Rates changed today, December 14, 2009. While the 1 and 3 month libor rates stayed the same, the overnight libor rate went higher.
