Dow Jones Analysis 7/20/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/20/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 20, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8878, 9000

Support Levels: 8600, 8480, 8331, 8250

The Dow Jones closed up for the 5th straight day as the monster snap back rally continues. Next week is the busiest week for earnings for the season so expect there to be a lot of volatility. I am looking to buy pullbacks to 8500 as well as down to 8300. I also realize that if the Dow Jones closes over 8800, there could be a sharp move for a retest of 9000.A close back below 8250 at any time would be bearish and the sellers will come back once again. Dow Jones Analysis 7/17/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/17/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 17, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8878, 9000

Support Levels: 8600, 8475, 8331, 8250

The Dow Jones exploded higher on some comments out of Nouriel Rubini which were taken out of context by several news outlets. Tomorrow will be interesting because we get several Dow component earnings in the morning. I feel we are due for a pullback to atleast the 50 day moving average at 8475 which I would be a buyer of. As long as we hold 8400 on a closing basis, I am bullish. Keep an eye on 8878 on the upside as well...if we do break through and close above that, we will run up and possibly break 9000... Dow Jones Analysis 7/16/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/16/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 16, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8878, 9000

Support Levels: 8600, 8469, 8331, 8250

The Dow Jones ripped higher today on better then expected earnings out of Intel ( INTC ). The Dow closed above 8600 which is a higher close then both of the shoulders on the head and shoulders pattern. Earnings have been outstanding and is the prime reason for this rally. If they can continue, we could see the Dow trade all the way up to 9000. If we get some bad ones, the Dow can easily trade back to that 8250 line. Given the move we are seeing this week, we now have a nice floor of around 8100 that should be solid and hold going forward. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Dow Jones Analysis 7/15/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/15/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 15, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8465, 8600

Support Levels: 8400, 8250, 8200, 8087

The Dow Jones had a great day today, closing over the 200 day moving average as earnings continue to be better then expected. I expect the Dow Jones to clear 8400 easily on July 15th and retest the 50 day moving average at 8465 based on the Intel earnings released earlier. I know I have been saying sell 8400 but wasn't expecting these incredible earnings. Instead of selling 8400, I now want to place a stop at the 50 day moving average and let things run. There will be strong resistance at 8600 but if we can close above there....you could see a mega short covering rally. As long as earnings continue to impress, the market will go higher! Dow Jones Analysis 7/14/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/14/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 14, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8400, 8600

Support Levels: 8250, 8200, 8087, 8000

The Dow Jones had a huge reversal today as an analyst upgraded Goldman Sachs ahead of earnings tomorrow. The Dow Jones reclaimed the 8250 level and is now pushing toward the next resistance level of around 8400. The head and shoulders formation was broken last week so I expect the Dow to either fail 8400 or 8600 which would be the shoulders. If 8600 is closed above, there would be a massive short covering rally and i'd expect the 8878 high to be tested and most likely broken. So in short, I am watching 8400, then 8600 on the upside. Also watch the 50 day moving average. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Dow Jones Analysis 7/13/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/13/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 13, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8200, 8250, 8375, 8600

Support Levels: 8087, 8000

The Dow Jones continued the recent downtrend Friday after failing at the neckline of the head and shoulders formation over the past few days. A close back above 8250 at any point could produce and additional rally to 8400...so make sure you keep that in mind when you are trading. I am also watching 8087 because if the Dow Jones breaks through that low, I am expecting 8000 to be tested. A close below 8000 will take the Dow Jones down to 7800 which should produce a nice recovery bounce back rally. There will be some big earnings reports next week! Dow Jones Analysis 7/9/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/9/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 9, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8200, 8250, 8375, 8600

Support Levels: 8087, 8000

The Dow Jones snapped back today after hitting a low of 8087. Resistance remains between 8200-8250 with the major resistance being located around 8400 which is in between the three major moving averages. If we do rally up to the 8400 area, I would be a seller. As you get closer to 8000 like today, I would be a buyer. Next week we will get earnings out of major companies such as GE, Citi, BAC, Intel, and IBM so buckle your seat belts. Dow Jones Analysis 7/8/09 Stock Market Analysis

Dow Jones Chart - The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 7/8/09

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DJI) Support & Resistance Levels - July 8, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8200, 8250, 8375, 8600

Support Levels: 8000

The Dow Jones has broken the neckline of a head and shoulders pattern and the trend is now down. All rallies back to the three major moving averages will now be sold and we will test the 8000 support level in my opinion. If 8000 does not hold, we could see a quick move down to 7800 before the big buyers step in. 7/7/09 was the first time the Dow Jones closed below 8250 since May. Dow Jones Analysis 5/4/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 5/4/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - May 4, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 8000, 7750, 7550

The Dow Jones tested the downtrend line today which is now a nice area of support. There is resistance around 8300 as well as major resistance at 8500. I don't expect much action until the stress test is released next Thursday. The Dow Jones has support at the 8000 level as well as 7750. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Dow Jones Analysis 5/1/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 5/1/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - May 1, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8190.66, 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 8000, 7750, 7550

The Dow Jones had a nice day early but then failed after the Chrysler announcement. The Dow still has not closed over the 8190 high from April and everytime it gets above 8200 it is sold. At this point, 8000 now becomes a critical support level as we await the stress test results on Monday. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Dow Jones Analysis 4/24/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/24/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 24, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8190

Support Levels: 7750, 7550

The Dow Jones had a late day surge led be financials at the end of the day. We are stuck in this range between 7750-8000. Dips under 7800 have been bought heavily, rips into the 8000's have been sold heavily. The downtrend line that I drew shows that we will either break above this resistance line or fail and begin another downtrend. As long as the Dow can close above 8000 I am bullish but as soon as we close below 8000, I trade from the short side. We have traded sideways for all of April so we will soon be able to tell the next major move within the next few weeks

Dow Jones Analysis 4/23/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/23/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 23, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8190

Support Levels: 7750, 7550

The Dow Jones failed to hold 8000 earlier today and collapsed at the end of the day. The Dow Jones has now closed below the 10 day moving average for the third straight day, something that hasn't happened since we hit the March lows. I am watching 7750 which has been a strong support level. If we close below 7750, a new downtrend will start. Carter Worth caused the late day sell off when he said sell sell sell. Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 22, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8190

Support Levels: 7750, 7550

http://stockcharts.com/ - Chart

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones had a nice snap back rally today but failed to close above the 10 day moving average which is now resistance. Since the recent run started, the Dow hasn't closed below the 10 day moving average for 3 straight days so tomorrow will be key from a technical standpoint. The support level of 7750 held again today so this is a level that must hold going forward. A close below 7750 would be a huge sign of weakness. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Dow Jones Analysis 4/21/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/21/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 21, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8190

Support Levels: 7750, 7550

The Dow Jones closed below the 10 day moving average and also closed at the lows. The next level of support I am looking at is 7750 which held several times in March and April. If this 7750 level does not hold on a closing basis, I feel the 50 day moving average will be retest at 7536. On the upside, 8000 is now resistance and I would be a seller at this level going forward.

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 20, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 8000

The Dow Jones continues the recent uptrend closing over the 10 day moving average once again. I continue to watch this moving average ( now at 7997 ) for any signs of a correction. 8000 is now an even more critical level on a closing basis. Bank of America, a Dow component, will release earnings on Monday. All signs point to the Dow testing the 8300-8500 before a major correction

Dow Jones Analysis 4/17/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/17/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 17, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 7961, 7750, 7535

The Dow Jones broke through the 8113 high from last week. Since closing back over 8000 yesterday, it is becoming more and more evident how strong this stock market truly is. I continue to eye the 8300-8500 level as strong resistance, it would take a lot to get through 8500 but it could happen. Pullbacks to the 10 day moving average have been heavily bought and this is where I continue to buy. We will eventually retest the 50 day moving average but at what level is the question!! This test of the 50 day moving average will be the real test....if it fails, we could attempt to retest the lows at some point this year. As for now, I am bullish as long as we keep closing over 8000.

Dow Jones Analysis 4/15/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/15/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 15, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8113, 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 7903, 7700, 7500

The Dow Jones was down Tuesday but managed to close over the 10 day moving average of 7903. This figure will move higher tomorrow but the Dow is showing slight signs of exhaustion. I still have my eye on the 50 day moving average and will buy pullbacks around 7500 if we get them. A close above 8000 will get me to buy stocks once again. As of now, I remain on the sidelines. Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 14, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 8000, 7864

The Dow Jones continues to trade over the 8000 level with no signs of stopping. The next resistance level is around 8300 which was the day the Geithner bank plan was a disaster back in February. Support continues to be at 8000 ever since we closed above that level on Thursday. If we break 8000, its back to test the 10 day moving average at 7864. The Intel ( INTC ) earnings could really move the market 4/14/09 For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Dow Jones Analysis 4/13/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/13/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 13, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 8000, 7735, 7538, 7450

The Dow Jones surged Thursday on earnings news out of Wells Fargo. The Dow broke 8000 and closed over the previous high of 8075. This is a huge bullish signal and is almost the opposite of what I was expecting yesterday. I am now bullish as long as the Dow remains over 8000 and will get short under 8000 for a trade. The next major resistance level I see is around the 8300 level, the same level which we were at when Timothy Geithner unveiled his banking solution which the market hated back in February. Dow Jones Analysis 4/9/09 Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 4/9/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - April 9, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8000, 8075, 8300, 8500

Support Levels: 7550, 7450

The Dow Jones closed back above the 10 day moving average but made a lower daily low for the 4th straight day. Keep an eye on 7750, a break below that area would cause the Dow Jones to get even weaker. I have a feeling we will retest the 50 day moving average over the next several weeks as bank earnings start to roll in. The 7500 would have to hold on the downside. However, a close above 8000 would get me bullish again. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here
