The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9506 on 8/21/09, as the stock market surged on a better then expected existing homes figure. The Dow Jones Futures started the morning in the green and then stock market inched up after the open. As soon as we received news that existing homes sales jumped 7.2%, the stock market ripped higher and never looked back. The Dow Jones broke two key resistance levels of 9438 and 9500. The next major level I am watching out for is the November election high of 9654. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Monday. The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day.
