Biotechnology companies hold the key to a bright future in drugs that can save lives globally. There are several biotech stocks that have been hot lately and are worth looking into further. Below is a list of the stocks we will be looking at today!
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (KERX) -AEterna Zentaris Inc. (AEZS) - Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA) - Dendreon Corp. (DNDN) - Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) - Pfizer Inc. (PFE) - Merck & Co. Inc. (MRK) - Amgen Inc. (AMGN) - Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (BMY) - Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CYCC) - Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SNSS) - Rexahn Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (RNN) - Athersys, Inc. (ATHX) - Novavax, Inc. (NVAX)
Pfizer Inc. (PFE) - Shares of Pfizer Inc received some positive news over the weekend: Phase 3 Study Showed MACUGEN® Improved Vision Over Standard of Care in Patients with Diabetic Macular Edema. Pfizer is currently in a downtrend with support located at $14.75 as well as $13.56. A new uptrend should start when PFE closes above $15.59.
Amgen Inc. (AMGN) - Shares of Amgen Inc. should do well this coming week after news was released over the weekend: Amgen drug cuts prostate cancer bone problems. I could see Amgen trading up to $57-$60 in the next 3-6 months.
Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (BMY) - Shares of Bristol-Myers Squibb released positive news over the weekend: Bristol-Myers Skin Cancer Drug Prolongs Survival.
Merck & Co. Inc. (MRK) - Shares of Merck & Co. Inc. have recently bounced nicely to the upside but are now testing the 10 day moving average. Support is located at $30.70 while resistance is located between $34.56 - $34.86.

AEterna Zentaris Inc. (AEZS) - Shares of AEterna Zentaris Inc. are also high on my radar right now. While I'd be a seller of a break below $1.46, I'd be a buyer if the stock breaks above $1.83.
Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA) - Shares of Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. have been hot due to to phase 3 trials of a drug for advanced sarcomas. ARIA stock has resistance located at $4.00 but then nothing until the mid $4's.
Athersys, Inc. (ATHX) - Athersys is a small stem cell company who has a potentially huge deal with Pfizer. Support is located at $2.25 while resistance is located at $3.50
Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CYCC) - Shares of Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. are worth watching closely due to the breakout we witnessed at the start of 2010. Resistance on the upside for CYCC stock is located at $2.28, $2.40, $2.98. A break above $3.00 would be huge!
Dendreon Corp. (DNDN) - Shares of Dendreon Corp. have pulled back to $40 after FDA approval on Provenge. It is now time for the company to execute sales and I look for this stock to get back above $50 sometime during 2010. Pullbacks to $35 are a buy.
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (KERX) - Shares of Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc. continue to be strong and trade near $5.00. Support is located at $4.36, a break below this level would be very bearish. On the upside, I'd be a buyer on a break above $5.34.
Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - Shares of Novavax have been a huge disappointment over the last six years. A lot of hype, a lot of let down. For a trade, I'd buy Novavax Inc if I see the stock break above $2.68.
Rexahn Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (RNN) - Rexahn Pharmaceuticals has an ED drug which we don't know much about. I'd only buy RNN stock if it eventually breaks above $1.53 for a trade.
Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) - Shares of Sequenom Inc. have been quiet lately but can heat up at any moment. Sequenom has resistance located at $6.84, a break above this level would be very bullish going forward.
Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SNSS) - Shares of Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. tend to run up when CYCC spikes. Resistance is located at $1.02 as well as $1.23. I'd be a buyer on a break above $1.02.
