The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8871 on 11/10/08, as investors dealt shook off a huge stimulus package from China and pushed stocks down for the day. The Stock Market Futures were up big this morning, The Dow Jones futures were actually up 250 at one point but the rally fizzled during the morning trading session and eventually pushed in to negative territory during the afternoon hours. General Motors ( GM ) was downgraded with a price target of Zero, Circuit City ( CC ) went bankrupt, Goldman Sachs ( GS ) continued its free fall, Googles ( GOOG ) price target was cut, and the was very light volume today. These were the reasons for the failed rally today adding to the fact that there was not much buy interest today. I suspect you could see more selling as we start the day Tuesday. A bright spot was AIG today as the stock went up 9% on their earnings results.
Biggest Gainers November 10th, 2008
One of the biggest gainers today was STEM, this stock hit a high of $2.48 per share before retracing all the way back to $2.10 before bouncing at the close. STEM had volume over 10 million shares today.
Another stock I will be watching is Las Vegas Sands ( LVS )....this company reports earnings today. You had a nice short squeeze this afternoon with heavy volume but we'll have to see what the company reports and says in their conference call. Keep an eye on this stock tomorrow.

Dow Jones Open 11/10/08 - Stock Market
Biggest Gainers Today 11/10/08
AIG
Delta Petroleum (DPTR ) is up 26% today on no news that I can see, maybe a buyout rumor out there since the stock has fallen so much. It's worth keeping an eye on. A break above $6.75 would be very bullish!
