Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - March 20, 2009
Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - March 20, 2009
Resistance Levels: 7500, 7695, 8000
Support Levels: 7400, 7216, 7000, 6895, 6500
http://stockcharts.com - Chart
The Dow Jones failed to break a new high today and is starting to look toppy. Keep an eye on the 7571.64 high from yesterday because if this level is broken, the Dow Jones will go higher. The 10 day moving average will most likely come into play next week and we must stay over it on a closing basis...if we close below it several days we could be looking at a retest of atleast 7000. Bottom line: Keep an eye on 7572 and watch the new major support level of 7216-7218. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Stocks to Buy March 20, 2009 3/20/09
Thursday, during regular trading hours, there were many stocks that continued to break out to the upside even as the stock market fell. Below is a list of stocks that are worth watching for Friday, March 20, 2009. Also, check out the Biggest Stock Gainers of the Day.
Stocks to Watch - 3/20/09 - Stock Market Ideas
Financials: The Financial Stocks were very weak today as profit taking set in. I will be watching the Financial Bear ( FAZ ) stock as more profit taking could hit the financials tomorrow. If the FAZ start to break down, you might want to switch back into the Financial Bull ( FAS ). These two stocks are extremely volatile and you can make a living day trading these two stocks! Citigroup ( C ), Bank of America ( BAC ), American International Group ( AIG ), and Wells Fargo ( WFC ) are also stocks worth watching tomorrow! As of now, money seems to be flowing back out of the bank stocks so that is why FAZ could go up.
Afterhours Gainers for 3/20/09
Blockbuster ( BBI ) - $0.94 Up 5.62% - Blockbuster arranges new loans, loses $360M in 4Q
During regular trading today, there were several big stock gainers that are worth watching tomorrow.
TXCO Resources ( TXCO ) - $0.56 Up 80.65% - This little stock is gaining back losses from earlier in the week. Natural Gas spiked higher today and TXCO has a nice position in the Eagleford Shale
Rex Energy ( REXX ) - $3.26 Up 41.13% - REX is spiking because of the jump in natural gas prices today - REXX has a very nice position in the Marcellus Shale
Century Aluminum ( CENX ) - $2.17 Up 31.52% - Commodities jumped higher, CENX flys
TRW Automotive Holdings ( TRW ) - $4.38 Up 36.02%
Lear ( LEA ) - $1.33 Up 84.72%
Tenneco ( TEN ) - $2.70 Up 30.43%
DryShips ( DRYS ) - $5.32 Up 27.58% - Drys had some good news out today, watch $5.55 during regular trading hours, if Dryships breaks up through this level, next stop could be the $7's in the next few weeks.

Dryships DRYS Petrobras Deal 3/19/09
Dryships ( DRYS ) stock is exploding to the upside today is their subsidiary Ocean Rig is in a deal with Petrobras for deep water drilling. Drys is trading at $5.35 on this news.
DryShips announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Ocean Rig ASA has received a Letter of Award from Petrobras for a 3-year period employment contract for exploration drilling in the Black Sea. The 3 year term includes mobilization, disassembly and reassembly of the derrick structure for transit through the Bosporus Strait. The contract is expected to commence in direct continuation from the current contract with Shell. The contract value is approximately USD 630 million including an estimated 60 days of mobilization, disassembly/reassembly of the derrick structure and an incentive bonus of 8%. Full Article
Drys is back over the $5 mark so if we get a close over this level we could see additional fund buying come into the stock. I just wish they would release earnings so I could take more risk. If everything is ok with earnings, you could see Drys head back toward $10. This is a big " IF "

Citigroup C Reverse Stock Split 3/19/09
Citigroup ( C ) stock is opening pre market today, March 19, 2009, at $3.12 as the company has filed a proxy to do a reverse stock split.
Citigroup Stock Split News - March 19, 2009
Citi announced today it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in connection with its proposed offer to issue its common stock in exchange for publicly held convertible and non-convertible preferred and trust preferred securities. Citi anticipates launching the public exchange offer in early April, subject to completion of the required SEC review process.
Citi plans to file shortly two preliminary proxy statements with the SEC. One preliminary proxy proposes to amend Citi's Charter to, among other things, increase the number of authorized shares of its common stock and authorize the Board of Directors to execute a reverse stock split of its common stock. Shareholder approval to increase Citi's authorized shares is not necessary to complete the exchange of private preferred shares for interim securities or to exchange the public preferred shares for common shares. The conversion of interim securities to common shares will be completed upon adoption of the amendment to authorize additional shares. The other preliminary proxy proposes to amend the Charter and the certificates of designation of each series of its public preferred stock to amend the rights of holders of public preferred stock.
