Dow Jones Analysis 2/11/09 Stock Market Analysis
The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 2/11/09
Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - February 11, 2009
Resistance Levels: 8000, 8100, 8376, 8404, 8500
Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - February 11, 2009
Resistance Levels: 8000, 8100, 8376, 8404, 8500
Support Levels: 7845, 7774, 7500
http://stockcharts.com - Chart
The Dow Jones fell the most today since December 1st 2008 and it managed Thursday's low of 7845.31. Technically, the Dow is looking bearish and we could be looking at testing the Hogan Bottom low of 7773.71 from October 10, 2008. The next support level would be 7500 and the 7448.38 52 week low from late November 2008. If we get a bounce, The Dow would probably bounce between 8000-8100 but expecting much more then that could leave you disappointed. The downtrend seems to be continuing! Nasdaq Analysis 2/11/09 February 11, 2009
The following is Technical Analysis for the Nasdaq ( NAS ) for 2/11/09
Nasdaq Support & Resistance Levels - February 11, 2009
Resistance Levels: 1533, 1600, 1665
Support Levels: 1500, 1495, 1476

Stock Market Futures
The Nasdaq fell big today with the overall stock market sell off. After testing 1600 for the second straight day and failing, the Nasdaq closed under the 10 and 50 day moving averages which are basically even with each other at 1532. 1532 is now minor resistance and 1500 would be the next support level for the Nasdaq. Pullbacks under 1500 have been a strong buy lately so if we get down there, I will be pulling the trigger. Once 1600 can hold on a closing basis for more then 3 day, we might have big rally. Dow Jones Close 2/10/09 - Stock Market Closing Prices
Stock Market Closing Prices - 2/10/09
Dow Jones Industrial Average ( DJIA ) Close - 7888.88 Down 381.99
Nasdaq Stock Market Close - 1524.73 Down 66.83

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 7889 on 2/10/09, as the stock market tanked after Timothy Geithner's Bank speech shocked Wall Street. The Dow Jones Futures opened pre market weak after President Obama's national speech last night. When stocks opened at 9:30am, the Nasdaq hit 1595, and the Dow was trading around 8200.
Timothy Geithner began talking around 11:00am and the Stock Market began to sell off. They did not give us any specifics that we were looking for and the so-called bank rescue plan has us scratching our heads. Obviously, I was prepared for specifics and an actual plan, but there was no plan, just stated goals we've been hearing for months. He had plenty of time to come up with a good plan! Could it be there just isn't a solution for this banking crisis? Bank Stocks began to tank, Bank of America ( BAC ) fell 19.50%, Citigroup ( C ) fell 15%, and the morning high flier UBS gave back all of its gains. The financial bear 3x stock ( FAZ ) went up over 20% today as traders fled banking stocks. Oil fell below $38, Gold soared hitting $920 at one point.
What now? Tomorrow will be an interesting day as the sell off today was on some nice volume, maybe the biggest volume day we've seen this year. We will have to see if the 7773 Hogan Bottom holds, if not, we could be looking at testing 7500 this week for the Dow Jones. With all due respect though, the Hogan Bottom was for 2008 but it is a very important low that has continues to hold. In 2009, Art Hogan said he would have to re access the situation.

Stimulus Plan Update 2/10/09 February 10, 2009
The Stimulus package appears to be days away from passing as the new bank rescue plan was announced today, February 10, 2009. Support for the 2009 Stimulus Package is now 51%.
Yesterday, the Stimulus Package passed a key procedural vote but lawmakers are still trying to tweak the plan as it gets ready for a Senate passage today and a Presidential Signature later this week. The Vote was 61 to 36 which will pass this bill by 1 vote. Republicans stepped up to the plate this time and helped out in a big way.
The three Republicans, Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, linked up with 56 Democrats and two independents to get this bill passed. As of now, the Stimulus Package stands at $838 Billion Dollars
If this Stimulus package goes through, a new home buyer could get a $15,000 credit but the new package could hurt programs like no child left behind. There are also tax incentives for new car buyers.
Oil is ripping higher because of the potential outcome of the stimulus bill. Oil prices were trading at $41.66 this morning but on Monday these prices will jump even higher as the April contract starts to trade.
Americans for Prosperity - No Stimulus Petition - February 10, 2009
Americans for Prosperity has started a Petition on their website over the weekend for Americans who oppose the stimulus.
We still have two chances to win in the House or Senate!
The Senate mustered 61 votes to squeak through the Collins/Nelson amendment, better known as the “compromise” stimulus plan.
If you listen to the mainstream media, this means the fight is over, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama win, and it’s time to move on. Not so fast!
The bill will go to a conference committee to work out differences between the House and Senate versions. The conference committee will be a brand-new feeding frenzy of wasteful pork projects, Americans for Prosperity said on their website Tuesday.
