The Dow Jones continues to surge higher but is starting to come up on some key resistance levels....9500 and 9654. I am bullish until the Dow closes below the 10 day moving average which I will then turn neutral until the 50 day moving average is retested. 9000 is also a solid support level but not as solid as the moving averages. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9320 on 8/4/09, as the stock market traded flat after a better then pending homes sales report. The Dow Jones Futures began the day lower but we received a bounce right after the report was released. The stock market went all positive several times today before making fresh daily highs going into the close. Very bullish trading action! Nothing really exciting happened today but all eyes will be on the Oil report tomorrow as well as the Jobs report on Friday. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Wednesday.

Sirius SIRI Stock Analysis 8/4/09 August 4, 2009

Siri Stock Chart - The following is technical analysis on SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) stock for August 4, 2009

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) Support and Resistance Levels - 8/4/09

Support Levels: $0.50, $0.44, $0.39

Resistance Levels: $0.56, $0.63, $0.75

Sirius XM Radio stock has been running up recently and now is a good time to take another look at the technicals. Today, SIRI broke back up through $0.50 which is very bullish. The next resistance level I am watching is $0.56 and then $0.63. If SIRI can close above these two levels, I think you could see another surge higher possibly testing $0.75-$0.80. The volume would spike and who knows, maybe back over $1.

Support continues to be the 10 day moving average which is currently at $0.44 and pullbacks to the 50 day moving average at $0.39 have been a strong buy. Keep an eye on $0.56 & $0.63.

Siri is probably rising because of the new car purchases from cash for clunkers.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. Resistance Levels: $3.21, $3.37, $3.50

Citigroup continues to close back over the 50 day moving average, something that is very bullish in the technical analysis world. I am now watching the high from last week at $3.37. If Citigroup can break up through there, I think it will test resistance between $3.50-$3.60. I want to buy pullbacks to the 10 day moving average which is rising each day and is currently at $2.93. As soon as Citigroup closes over the 200 day moving average I will stop trading and go long.

Human Genome Sciences HGSI Upgraded - $26 Price Target

August 4, 2009 - Shares of Human Genome Sciences Inc. (HGSI) should get a nice lift today after a huge upgrade out of Think Equity. The firm is raising assumptions on Lupus drug Benlysta and raising the price target from $18 to $26 per share.

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 8/4/09, are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.276% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.471%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.243%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, August 4, 2009. The 1 month libor stayed the same, the 3 month libor rate went down, and the overnight libor went up.
