The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 7920 on 4/14/09, as the stock market fell on weaker then expected retail sales data and the fact the Goldman Sachs ( GS ) fell after reporting earnings yesterday. The Dow Jones Futures were weak this morning and got even weaker after a surprisingly bearish retail sales number. The stock market fell more after President Obama gave a speech on the economy but we rallied after Ben Bernanke's speech.

Dendreon ( DNDN ) was the story stock of the day as the company released positive clinical trial data on their prostate cancer drug, Provenge. Shares of DNDN were up almost 300% in pre market at one point but then sold of to $16. Here is my take on Dendreon for tomorrow.

All eyes will be on Intel ( INTC ) earnings tonight! This will set the tone for Wednesday.

Cell Genesys, Inc. (CEGE) - $0.52 Up 49% - CEGE stock is going up on the DNDN news but CEGE's prostate cancer drug was terminated so I am a little confused as to why CEGE is up so much. The company terminated the VITAL-1 and VITAL-2 Phase III clinical trials of GVAX immunotherapy, its lead product program, for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Antigenics Inc. (AGEN) - $0.72 Up 53.19% - AGEN is also going up on the DNDN news as they have some Caner Drugs in the pipeline.

Adventrx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ANX) - $0.16 Up 14.86% - No News, they have some cancer stuff but their website doesn't even show their clinical trials lol

Proliance International, Inc. (PLI) - $0.44 Up 23.97% - No News, up for third straight day, only a $7 million company

Maguire Properties Inc. (MPG) - $1.60 Up 28.00% - MPG higher as shareholder seeks to raise stake

The following is a report on Dry Bulk Shipping Rates for 4/14/09. AIG FRE FNM CTIC Stock April 14, 2009

After an incredible Goldman Sachs ( GS ) earnings report last night, Shares of Citigroup ( C ) are flying in pre market. This is causing some other government backed stocks to surge as well.

American International Group ( AIG ): AIG stocks is trading at $1.61 in pre market trading. I am watching support at $1.54, if this continues to hold, look for the $2.00 high to be tested. If $2 is closed over, look for $2.12 and then $2.84. Support at $1.00 has been solid over the past month.

Freddie Mac ( FRE ) - FRE stock is trading at $1.04....watch the major resistance level of $1.50 but a close over $1.25 will get Freddie moving.

Fannie Mae ( FNM ) - FNM stock is trading at $1.03 in pre market, I am also watching $1.25 and major resistance at $1.43....a break up through this level would be huge!!

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC crashed yesterday but is rebounded on the following news. I won't get interested again until CTIC breaks up through $0.45.

Also: Cell Therapeutics Initiating Rolling NDA Submission for Pixantrone

Etrade Financial ( ETFC ) - Etrade is gapping over the 200 day moving average at $1.97. This will act as support during the trading day today. Next resistance levels are $2.24 and $2.85

The following is a little Citigroup ( C ) stock technical analysis for April 14, 2009

Citigroup Support & Resistance Levels - 4/14/09

Resistance Levels: $4.32, $5.00

Support Levels: $3.89, $3.60, $3.35

Citigroup is gapping over $4.00 in pre market and appears as though it will open over the $3.89 resistance. This level will now become support. If Citigroup can hold and remain over $4, I see the next resistance being tested at $4.32.
If $4.32 turns out to be no big deal, I think Citi can eventually get back up to $5.00 but this is where there will be a major battle. There will be a lot of sellers located at $5. The Dow Jones continues to trade over the 8000 level with no signs of stopping. The next resistance level is around 8300 which was the day the Geithner bank plan was a disaster back in February. Support continues to be at 8000 ever since we closed above that level on Thursday. If we break 8000, its back to test the 10 day moving average at 7864. Stocks to Watch - 4/14/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Financials: How about those financials! The stock market was down for most of the day on Monday yet most of the financials were higher. I will be watching the following bank stocks for Tuesday!

Citigroup ( C ) - Citi continues the recent one month uptrend taking out the $3.35 resistance level Monday...looks like next stop - $3.89. Pullbacks below $3.00 are now a strong buy!

Bank of America ( BAC ) - B of A stock continues the break out! $12.50 would be my next resistance target where BAC would stall and the profit taking would come in. Pullbacks under $8 are a strong buy

American International Group ( AIG ) - AIG stock for a trade could work now that its trading back over the 10 day moving average. I am watching the first resistance level of $1.54 which was the late March high and also $2.00 which is the 2009 high.

Stock Market April 14, 2009 4/14/09

We are half way through the day on April 13, 2009. The Stock Market has been red all day partly due to profit taking from last week. Wall Street does not seem to like the General Motors ( GM ) bankruptcy news as it becomes more evident this will be the likely path. Shares of General Motors are trading at $1.70, down 16%. Shares of Ford ( F ) aren't budging today, flat at $4.24.

The financials are red hot for the 2nd straight day due to the Wells Fargo earnings news out last Thursday. For a brief moment today, shares of the Financial Bull 3x ( FAS ) ETF were worth more then shares of the Financial Bear 3x ( FAZ ). Since closing over the 50 day moving average, FAS has been on fire!

Watching: Agfeed Industries ( FEED ) - Huge breakout on heavy volume Monday. If you can recall, FEED reported outstanding earnings last quarter! I have my own personal price target of $5-$7 by 2010.

As the above earnings releases start to trickle in, we will then be hit with some economics data.

PPI, Core PPI at 8:30am
Retail Sales at 8:30am
Business Inventories at 10:00am

We then have a few earnings reports due out after the bell.

Dendreon DNDN Stock April 13 2009 4/13/09

Shares of Dendreon ( DNDN ) are soaring in pre market trading this morning hitting $9.00 at one point on no news. Well, I assume news was leaked because I cannot find DNDN news anywhere. What I think is happening is news has been confirmed that Dendreon will release data at the American Urological Association (AUA) conference at the end of the month. I'm sure some kind of news will be released later in the day stating this.
