The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9279 on 8/19/09, as the stock market started the day down big but reversed and ended the day higher. The Dow Jones Futures started the day down around 85 points but improved throughout pre market trading. All of the major stock market averages bounced back to even around 11am and then went positive shortly after. When 2pm EST hit, the Dow was up 85 points before pulling back in the final hour. Tomorrow we will get initial jobless claims data from last week. Wall Street is expecting that the initial jobless claims will come in at 552,000. We will also be getting a look at earnings out of Sears Holdings Corporation (SHLD).

The stock market continues to make people look stupid as most people are looking for a huge correction. During pre market, things looked really bad but buyers jumped in right after the open. Bull Markets don't let people in and pullbacks are shallow and short. I remain bullish as long as the Dow Jones can hold 9000. If we close above 9438 on the Dow, we could easily run up toward 9800 -10,000. Stay Tuned and keep an eye on critical support and resistance levels.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. Stocks to Watch - 8/19/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Rentech, Inc. (RTK) - RTK stock exploded higher Tuesday after the company released more positive Jet Fuel news. The CEO will be on CNBC Tuesday at 7:00 pm EST. Resistance $2.40's

American Axle & Manufact. Holdings, Inc. (AXL) - AXL getting their credit line extended....a close over $5 would be very bullish. The next major resistance level would be $8.31.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup hit some minor resistance Tuesday at $4.14-$4.15. The next major resistance will be $4.24-$4.25 and then nothing until the $4.40's. I am also watching the 200 day moving average which is located at $4.35. Once Citigroup closes over this level you could see a huge surge. All the dots are connecting so when you see Citi break $4.50, there could be a big multi day run.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS broke down through $65.70 in the final hour Monday and then plunged. Tuesday, FAS gapped over this level and ran higher. If FAS breaks up through $70, I will buy for a trade. If FAS breaks down below $66.20, I will buy FAZ for a trade. As always, I take quick profits with these two ETF's due to the violent moves.

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation is still one solid stock and was trading back in the $17's Tuesday. Each pullback brings in heavy buying! Watching major the next major resistance at $17.93.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG broke $24 Tuesday and had a decent pop. I continue to believe the real moves will come when AIG breaks back up through $25 and then $26.50. Thos are the resistance levels I will be watching.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - So FRE broke through Monday's high of $1.34 and hit $1.38....was expecting a larger move but the volume just wasn't there. I will be buying FRE when it breaks $1.50 for sure. $1.38 is now a new resistance level to watch in the future.

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Waiting for FNM to break back through $1 before I get involved again.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB continues to hold last weeks low of $1.87. I will be buying for a quick trade when HEB breaks back up through $2

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Next Monday, CTIC is expecting to hear from the FDA whether their application for Pixantrone will be accepted. CTIC will move again when it breaks above $1.63

This morning I have updated my Apple ( AAPL ) technical analysis stock chart. Apple has had a nice run....back up close to the resistance levels of $183. Apple ( AAPL ) has strong support at the 200 day moving average.

Pre Market Stocks to Watch - 8/19/08 August 19th, 2008 Stock Market

This morning we had some hot economic data which is causing the futures to slide a bit. Oil has retraced to about the $112 level. A break below $110 for Oil would be very bearish and you could see $105-$106 next.

Target (TGT ) has come out with better then expected earnings this morning but is trading lower with the market.

Wellcare Healthplans ( WCG ) has settled with Medicaid resulting in a 32.5 million dollar payment....WCG is up 18% in pre market trading. Keep an eye on this one.


Xinhua Finance Media ( XFML ) will be a very active stock today....the company is out with great earnings....up 22% with revenue being up 69%. The stock is trading up 14% in pre market.
