The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9441 on 9/4/09, as the stock market surged on a better then expected jobs report. The United States lost 216,000 jobs in the month of August while the unemployment rate surged to 9.7%. The Dow Jones Futures were flat on this news but the stock market spiked going into the afternoon hours. It appears we are headed up to retest the highs but we will have to see what happens after the Holiday on Monday.

Las Vegas Sands LVS CNBC Stock Pick

Shares of Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) just received a nice pop in price as a guest on CNBC said he likes the stock and gave it a $26 price target.

The guest says LVS is " well positioned " as we go ahead in the future.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) also received an Upgrade from Argus earlier this week. Argus has an $18 price target on the stock.

Keep an eye on the previous high of $14.97 from August 28, 2009. If LVS can close above that level, look for the stock to start a fresh breakout. I will have some technical analysis over the weekend so make sure you check back.

Sinovac Biotech: China Orders H1N1 Vaccine

September 4, 2009 - Shares of Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (SVA) continue their wild ride but are called higher in pre market this morning due to the following news.


Sinovac Obtains Initial Order of H1N1 Vaccine from Chinese Central Government


Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (NYSE: SVA) a leading provider of biopharmaceutical products in China, announced today that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China has issued the initial order to Sinovac to purchase H1N1 vaccine for the national stockpiling plan. According to the initial order, Sinovac is required to complete the production of 3.3 million doses of PANFLU.1 (15ug/0.5ml), the H1N1 vaccine manufactured by Sinovac, before September 15, 2009. Two doses of the vaccine are packaged in one vial.

Looking at the charts, resistance is located at $10.48 which was the high from 9/3/09. If SVA breaks up through that level, I will jump in for a trade.

No Delisting for Freddie Mac Inc. FRE Stock

September 4, 2009 - Shares of Freddie Mac (FRE) are surging in pre market after it has regained minimum share price compliance and will not be delisted nor have to do a reverse split.

On September 3, 2009, Freddie Mac was notified by the New York Stock Exchange that it had returned to compliance with the NYSE’s minimum share price listing requirement. In a September 3 letter to the company, the NYSE said that a review as of August 31, 2009, showed that Freddie Mac’s average share price over the preceding 30 trading days and its closing share price on that date were both more than $1.00, above the NYSE’s minimum requirement

Human Genome Sciences HGSI BENLYSTA News

September 4, 2009 - Shares of Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (HGSI) could get a lift today on the following news:

Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:HGSI) today announced publication by the journal Arthritis Care & Research of an article describing the development and use of a novel evidence-based systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) Responder Index selected as the primary endpoint of two pivotal Phase 3 clinical trials of BENLYSTA™ (belimumab) in serologically active patients with SLE. This primary endpoint was accepted by the FDA under a Special Protocol Assessment agreement for the Phase 3 trials.

In July 2009, HGS and GSK announced that belimumab met this primary endpoint in BLISS-52, the first of the two Phase 3 trials. Results from BLISS-76, the second Phase 3 trial, are expected in November 2009. Belimumab is being developed by HGS and GSK under a co-development and commercialization agreement entered into in August 2006.

Looking at the charts, HGSI stock needs to get back above the 10 day moving average at $18.60. If HGSI does close back above the 10 day, $20 is the next resistance level. HGSI has been falling ever since the Immunomedics Inc. (IMMU) news was released.

FAS closed above the $70 resistance level Thursday which is very bullish. The next major level to watch is $74.29 which was the previous support level from 2 week ago. $74.29 is now resistance and if FAS can close above it, I think $80 could be retested. Stocks to Watch - 9/4/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG stock broke back above $40 on Thursday which is bullish. I will buy AIG Friday if it can break the high of day which was $42.01. I would also be willing to buy pullbacks into the $35-$36 zone. If AIG breaks Thursday's low of $39.50 with heavy volume, I will look for $35-$36.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup went up on low volume Thursday. A retest of the 10 day moving average failed. I am looking to buy any pullback to $4.48-$4.50 or a close above the 10 day moving average. Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - I will be buying FAS when it breaks above $70. This would set up a possible retest of $74.29 which was the significant low that was broken earlier in the week. I plan to buy FAZ if FAS breaks below $66.54
