The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8438 on 6/26/09, as the stock market shrugged off positive personal spending data to close down. The Dow Jones Futures were down in pre market and the stock market never really recovered. The smart phone stocks - Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM), Apple Inc. (AAPL), and Palm, Inc. (PALM) all went higher on better then expected earnings out of Palm itself. Commodities were mixed as Gold and Natural Gas went up while Oil rolled over during the afternoon. All eyes will be on the employment report out next week. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Monday.

Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates 6/26/09 BDI

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. When Bulk Shipping Rates are as low as they have been lately, it signifies that the world economy has come to a screeching halt!

The Dow Jones snapped back today but stopped shy of the key resistance levels : 10 day moving average, 8500, and the 200 day moving average. A close above 8500 would get me bullish again as we held 8250 on the downside for 2 straight days. 8600 will also provide strong resistance so you can see the types of headwinds upon the Dow right now. Stocks to Watch - 6/26/09 - Stock Market Ideas

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI stock exploded up to $0.48 on Thursday after releasing the following news - XM Satellite Radio Prices Offering of Senior Secured Notes due 2013. SIRI has resistance at the $0.53-$0.55, Support at $0.45 and $0.39.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) - JAZZ spiked above $5 Thursday morning with heavy volume but then sold off on the following news. Jazz Pharma pain drug meets late-stage study main goal. Each time JAZZ Pharmaceuticals releases news, the stock spikes and then sells off on the same day. Several days later, the stock usually gets hammered. Each time JAZZ has spiked, the support level has increased by $0.50. Last week, support held at $3, this time i'd be a buyer near $3.50. There is strong resistance between $5-$5.53. JAZZ is a stock that should always be on your radar due to the volatility.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB stock was higher Thursday as investors continue to wait on an FDA Approval Decision on Ampligen, a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Drug. The company also came out with a press release stating that they had a low turnout at their annual shareholders meeting but this could be due to the fact that 40% of the shares outstanding are held by European Banks.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC continues to snap back on all major pullbacks. Resistance is located at $1.57 & $1.67, then major resistance in the $1.70's. Support - $1.37. Despite the low volume lately, CTIC has been resilient!

Palm, Inc. (PALM) - PALM is expected to release earnings Thursday night - Expect shares to be very active on June 26th. Wall Street expects Palm Inc to lose $0.62 per share. Analysts will pay close attention to Pre smart phone sales and guidance. I will be buying on any major dips.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS had a nice day on Thursday and is starting to carve out a bottom. Support has moved down to around $8.30-$8.40 and also $8. Clear resistance is seen in the high $8.80's, $9, and $9.20. Looks like we may be stuck in this $8-$9 range for awhile. If FAS does trade up to $10, I'd be a buyer of FAZ.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup was back around $3 Thursday...this area is like a magnet. Citigroup now has resistance at $3.15, $3.22, and $3.29....a close above these levels would be bullish and you could probably see a run back into the $3.50's. A break below $2.90 would be very bearish and I would look for $2.60-$2.80.
