The 787 Billion Dollar Stimulus bill that was passed and signed last week will soon be on heavy watch. President Obama will assign Department of Interior director Earl Devaney to make sure there isn't any wasteful spending. Vice President Joe Biden will also supervise each payout of the stimulus bill and work closely with the Governors and Mayors.

Charlie Gasparino CNBC Banks 1/30/09

Charlie Gasparino of CNBC is reporting today, January 30, 2009, that the bad bank plan could be on hold. The stock market is dipping on this news, the Dow Jones is hovering above support around 8000.

The Bad Bank plan was for the Government to buy toxic bank assets and get them off the banks' books so that they can resume lending and start a new path to profits.

This bad bank plan news has rallied the stock market over the past week and this news combined with Obama's Wall Street bonus chatter is really starting to hamper the stock market.

Not news you want to hear on a Friday afternoon going into the weekend! If we close at the lows, look out below on Monday! I would not want to be in bank stocks right now.

Dow Jones Futures 11/24/08 - Stock Market

The Stock Market and Dow Jones Futures are screaming higher 11/24/08 as the government rescues Citigroup overnight. Oil, Gold, Natural Gas are all pointed higher as well. Today will be a big day for the stock market as traders digest this news and await Barack Obama's comments this afternoon on a wide range of subjects in addition to naming Tim Geithner Treasury Secretary. If President - Elect Obama says anything about waiting to raise taxes until 2010, you could see another upside explosion in stocks this afternoon.

Nasdaq Futures - Up 16
S&P 500 Futures - Up 17

Tim Geithner Treasury Secretary 11/21/08

NBC News is reporting that Barack Obama will name Timothy Geithner the new Treasury Secretary on Monday, November 24, 2008.

The Stock Market is moving higher on this news....I'm watching for a possible close back over 7773 on the Dow Jones. This is new the markets were waiting for, some certainty in an uncertain market. This is positive news.

Art Cashin CNBC 11/07/08 - Retest Lows - Jobs Number

Art Cashin was on CNBC today, 11/07/08, here are Art Cashin's comments on the stock market.

I'm a little surprised, I thought we'd be weak this morning because of the revision, and its equal to this jobs number being over 300,000 lost. Barack Obama is going to speak this afternoon at 2pm, I wish he would have waited until after the close today but we'll be watching.

Art, what is the likely hood we retest the lows?

I think there is a 50% chance we go down and retest the lows in some fashion, watch the S&P 500, if we break through 900 and 880 the percentage goes up.

If we test and fail to hold the lows we will have a very short, very sharp plunge and then build a monster reversal rally that will last. You can commit some funds on the way down to prepare for a reversal that will follow.

Art Cashin CNBC 11/05/08 - Barack Obama

Art Cashin CNBC 11/05/08 - Comments on the Election and on Barack Obama

Last night was a Historic evening for America....people are slightly nervous however, there was mild disappointment in Barack Obama's acceptance speech, Obama chose to separate Wall St and Main St. again in his speech, the stock markets will be sensitive to each move he makes going forward. The Obama administration has to get up and running fast because we have a lot of financial problems out there with our economy.

ADP report: I think the Jobs Report on November 7th might be worse..we will have to look at what the ISM number does today at 10am.
