The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9497 on 9/8/09, as the stock market inched higher for the second straight day. The Dow Jones Futures started the day up around 70 points but the stock market sold off throughout the day. In the final two hours of trading, the stock market got back most of the gains and closed strong. The main factor in today's rally was the fact that $1000 gold took most commodity stocks higher. Oil and Natural Gas Prices also went up nicely was well.

Solar Stocks: Solar stocks were on fire today as Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ENER) was the talk of takeover chatter as well as Huge News out of First Solar, Inc. (FSLR). I think the Solar Stock bottom in finally in.

September 8, 2009 - Shares of Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. (OPXA) are surging in pre market as the company released positive trial data this morning. OPXA stock is trading at $2.72 Up 78%.


Opexa Reports Additional Favorable Data with Tovaxin® for Multiple Sclerosis


Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPXA), a company developing Tovaxin®, a personalized T-cell immunotherapy for multiple sclerosis (MS), today announced results from further analysis of the double-blind, placebo-controlled, 52-week Phase IIb TERMS clinical study of 150 patients with Relapsing Remitting MS (RRMS). This analysis evaluated patients with an annualized relapse rate of one or greater at study entry (ARR≥1). More than 83% of the Tovaxin-treated group (n=85) remained relapse free at one year and the annualized relapse rate after treatment decreased to 0.20, a 42% reduction compared to placebo.

Stocks to Watch - 9/8/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG gapped into the $43's on Friday and then sold off throughout the day. The stock closed near support at $40. Aside from resistance at $41.15 from Friday, the next major resistance level is located at $43.75. Check out my AIG Technical Analysis

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup tested $5 on Friday but failed. A close back over $5 would get me to buy more stock. Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) - JAZZ exploded Friday after the company will be presenting in two upcoming conferences. I will be buying pullbacks to the 10 day moving average under $8 if I get the chance. On the upside, aside from the high of $10.24 on Friday, there is no major resistance until the high $11's to $12. If you are an active daytrader, JAZZ should always be on your watch list.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS broke above $70 on Friday which was another buy signal. Based on the stock market futures today, I expect FAS to gap up and possibly retest $74.29 on Tuesday. A close back above $74.29 would be very bullish and a retest of $80 is quite possible. I would only be trying to trade FAZ if FAS breaks back below $70. Check out my recent FAS Technical Analysis

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation is retesting the 10 day moving average. Keep an eye on this level this week. Check out my BAC Technical Analysis

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - I continue to watch for trading opportunities in HEB. I will be buying again when HEB breaks up through $2.07.

Freddie Mac (FRE) failed at the 10 day moving average on Friday after hitting $1.51 two days earlier. The 10 day moving average ( currently located at $2.04 ) will offer some resistance as will the $2.25 area. If FRE can close above $2.25, it has a strong shot at retesting the recent highs. As long as FRE stays below the 10 day moving average however, I do not like the stock. Most people feel as though FRE has no value so you have to be cautious when trading the stock. I would get back into the stock if it closed above $2.25 but keep a very tight stop loss order. For more Technical Analysis - Go Here

Fannie Mae (FNM) closed right at the 10 day moving average on Friday after hitting $1.26 two days prior. Resistance will be right at the 10 day moving average as well as $1.90. If FNM can break and close above $1.90, we could be looking at another retest of the highs. Current support is located at $1.70 and $1.50. On Saturday, the FDA Set the Action Date of April 23, 2010 for Review of Pixantrone NDA. It appears CTIC did not get the Fast Track date of late December 2009 but this is still ok news. On Friday, CTIC plunged down to the $1.20 support level as this news was leaked. The $1.20 support level has been solid since May 2009 and this is a great area to add shares. Sirius XM Radio failed to close above $0.75 in August and pulled back to the $0.60 support level in September. As long as SIRI continues to close above $0.60, I like the stock. The 10 day moving average will now become a key resistance level as well as $0.70. I plan to buy SIRI as soon as it closes back over $0.70 because this to me would be a sign of a new breakout. American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) continues the nice bounce off the recent $32.66 low. Resistance is Friday's high of $43.73 as well as $47.50. Support is located right at $40 and $37.50. If $37.50 is broken, I am looking to Buy AIG stock between $35-$36 for a trade. I would also be buying a close over $45 and more on a break above the August high of $55.90.
