The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9749 on 9/23/09, as the stock market traded down after breaking above 9900 on the Fed Statement. The Dow Jones Futures started the day slightly higher but traded down right after the open. After we sold off in the morning trading session, stocks rallied and then exploded higher after the Federal Reserve came out and said that the Economy is picking up. The Dow Jones topped out at 9917 but then reversed and dropped over 150 points. As I have been saying over the past month, breaking and holding 10,000 will be no easy task. Tomorrow we get another dose of economic data such as initial jobless claims. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Thursday. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, September 23, 2009. While the 1 month libor rate stayed the same, the overnight went higher and the 3 month libor dropped.

Citigroup stock closed over the 10 day moving average today, a very bullish technical trend change. At this point, pullbacks to the 10 day moving average ( $4.46 ) become a strong buy. The next major resistance for C stock is $4.75 followed by $4.99. The 50 day moving average also broke up through the 200 day moving average this week...another bullish sign. Stocks to Watch - 9/23/09 - Stock Market Ideas

VeriChip Corporation (CHIP) - CHIP continues to spike higher on larger then normal volume. The best way to trade this is wait for a pullback and then buy the following day when if it breaks through the high of the day. Resistance is now $4.10

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) - ABK is really starting to break out. The chart looks similar the to AIG break out on Monday so if ABK can close over $2.00, I am looking for a big day on Wednesday.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG closed over $47.67 yesterday and tested the next high of $55.90 Tuesday morning. It failed, AIG then pulled back to the $50 level. $50 now becomes support as does $47.67. A close above $55.90 at any time will start another short squeeze. The easy money was made over the last two days....now it becomes a little harder to predict. Watch $50 and $55.90

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup will be closing over the 10 day moving average today. All pullbacks are now a strong buy. Would only sell if Citigroup closes back under the 10 day moving average ($4.46 ). Check out my recent Citigroup Technical Analysis.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS gapped over resistance at $85.61 and ran to $90 on Tuesday. I will be buying FAZ if FAS breaks below $86.50. I will be buying FAS if it can break above $91.05 which was the high from last week.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI continues to trade in a tight range buy is showing signs of strength. There is huge resistance at $0.70 & $0.75. Solid support at $0.65. I will be buying on a close over $0.70.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation shares were higher Tuesday after Dick Bove recommended the stock. About a month ago, Mr. Bove came out and said the bank stocks ran to high to fast. What happened since? They ran up even higher. I guess he was not able to cause a sell off and buy himself so he had to get in before it was to late. Anyway, I'm looking for BAC to break out when it breaks up through $18.24. Support = $17.25

Rentech, Inc. (RTK) - RTK was up Tuesday because of a CEO Interview. Keep an eye on RTK on Wednesday.


Fannie Mae (FNM) - Resistance = $1.77 - Support $1.69
Freddie Mac (FRE) - Resistance = $2.15 - Support $2

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS was up Tuesday because of yesterday's news. Resistance is located at $20

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - HEB continues to be a solid buy below $2. Resistance is located at $2.06, $2.09, $2.16, $2.24
