The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9509 on 10/1/09, as the stock market tanked on worse the expected economic data. The Dow Jones Futures started the day slightly lower but then we received a disappointing Initial Claims number as well as a worse then expected ISM figure. The stock market then started dropping and never came back at all. All eyes will be on the employment report on Friday morning.

Dow Jones Technical Analysis: I am watching a key support level on the Dow Jones of 9450. This is where the 50 day moving average is located. I'm expecting the Dow to stall around this level....or if we get a huge sell off tomorrow, a rally back to this level.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 10/01/09 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.246% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.284%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.205%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, October 1, 2009. While the 1 month libor stayed the same, both the overnight and 3 month libor rates dropped.

Citigroup bounced off the 10 day moving average again on Wednesday and closed at the high of the day. I didn't actually watch the final minutes of trading but I don't believe it actually traded in the $4.80's. Anyhow, the stock is higher in afterhours and I continue to like pullbacks to the 10 day moving average. The next major resistance area for Citigroup is $4.99-$5.02. Bullish on Citigroup right now! Stocks to Watch - 10/01/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Discovery Laboratories Inc. (DSCO) - I continue to watch DSCO after the FDA paved the way for a potential approval on Surfaxin. There is strong resistance located at $1.70, if the stock can break above that, I will buy for a trade. Support is located around $1.15-$1.20.

TerreStar Corporation (TSTR) - TerreStar, AT&T to launch satellite smartphone

Hoku Scientific, Inc. (HOKU) - HOKU stock soared Wednesday on news that the company sold a stake to Tianwei New Energy Holdings Co. I am watching for a break back into the $4's or a pullback below $3 to buy for a trade.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - I am watching $42.91 which was the low from last week. This low needs to hold on a closing basis for AIG to remain in the uptrend. If AIG does break dwon through $42.91, I might even short it for a trade. Short term resistance is the 10 day moving average ( $44.55 ) and the high from yesterday at $47.49.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Bounced off the 10 day moving average on Wednesday ( $4.50 ). Would be buying pullbacks to the 10 day or a close over $4.75.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation is trading right between the 10 & 50 day moving averages. I am bullish on a close above $17.26 ( 10 day ) but bearish on a close below $16.38 ( 50 day ). These are two averages to watch closely going into October.

CEL-SCI Corp. (CVM) - Resistance = $1.77, $1.83, $1.87..... Support = $1.60

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS has been trading below the 10 day moving average for the past week or so. Currently at $18.18, the 10 day will be a resistance level going forward. If by chance LVS pulls back to the 50 day moving average ( $14.38 ), it will become a strong buy.

YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - I will buy on a break above $5

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - Will buy when DRYS closes above $7

Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - I will buy on a break above $5

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - Will buy on a break above $0.64

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Would buy on a break above $1.31
