Brian Kelly CNBC Fast Money - Buy MCP Molycorp

By Tim - http://stockstobuy.org

Shares of Molycorp (MCP) are rallying in after hours tonight ( $46.20 ) after Brian Kelly of CNBC's Fast Money told viewers It's time to buy Molycorp (MCP) again. BK told views last week he would be looking to start buying MCP stock between $40-$42 so he has upped his buy price. Brian Kelly also noted last week that if Molycorp secures additional financing toward the Mountain Pass mine production increase, MCP stock will head higher.

As for Molycorp (MCP) stock analysis, the stock hit a low of $42.88 this morning but skyrocketed in the afternoon. The main level of resistance MCP has right now is located at #48.39. MCP has failed at $48.39 twice in the past week. A break above this level will be bullish and probably take the stock back into the $50's.

1 Month - 0.353%
3 Month - 1.123%

Commodities Closing Prices - 1/20/09

Gold - 859
Oil - 38.74
Natural Gas - 4.69

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 7949 on 1/20/09, as the stock market was rattled once again, before, during, and after Barack Obama began his presidency. As I have been saying before, the banking sector has been getting crushed lately and the markets cannot rally with this happening. Today, State Street ( STT ) came out with horrible earnings and flat guidance. This news sent stock shares of Citigroup ( C ), Bank of America ( BAC ), and Goldman Sachs ( GS ) as much as 25% lower. When you see these stocks bounce higher, so will the Dow Jones, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 as well as Oil for that matter. Other notable stocks that were lower today were Visa ( V ) and Apple ( AAPL ). Anady's Pharma ( ANDS ), which is the Hottest Stocks in 2009, was up 7% today. Overall, the stock market broke down technically today, the Dow 8000 could not hold and the S&P 500 failed at 815-820. Tomorrow will be another interesting day. I will have full technical analysis of the stock market tonight, Right Here

Baltic Dry Index Shipping Rates - 1/20/09 BDI

The following is a report on Dry Bulk Shipping Rates for 1/20/09. This data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers ( EXM ), Diana Shipping ( DSX ), Genco Shipping ( GNX ), TBS International ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), and OceanFreight ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. As you probably know, the Dry Bulk Shipping index can tell you a lot about the state of the World Economy. When Bulk Shipping Rates are at all time highs, the World Economy is outstanding. When Bulk Shipping Rates are as low as they have been lately, it signifies that the world economy has come to a screeching halt.

Dow Jones Analysis 1/20/09 - Stock Market Analysis

The following is Technical Analysis for the Dow Jones ( DJIA ) for 1/19/09, 1/20/09

Dow Jones Support & Resistance Levels - January 20, 2009

Resistance Levels: 8350, 8500, 8765
Support Levels: 8150, 8000, 7965

The Dow Jones bounced off 8000 again last week with heavy volume...this is a positive signal but we are still below the last major support level of 8500 and below both the 10 and 50 day moving averages. What is more concerning is that you can see the 10 day moving ( blue line ) average getting ready to dip below the 50 ( red line ) again. This set up is never what you want to see if you are taking long positions. For prices to move higher, you always want to see the 10 day above the 50 day. If the Dow Jones gets back to the 8500 level which is now resistance, traders will probably be starting to sell. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Nasdaq Analysis 1/20/09 January 20, 2009

The following is Technical Analysis for the Nasdaq ( NAS ) for 1/19/09, 1/20/09

Nasdaq Support & Resistance Levels - January 20, 2009

Resistance Levels: 1534, 1568.41, 1600
Support Levels: 1500, 1456

After hitting a low of 1456, the Nasdaq is back over the key support level of 1500. While I remain bullish on the Nasdaq over 1500, it is trading below both key moving averages that I follow, the 10 and 50 day moving averages. As long as this is the case, traders are more inclined to sell when these levels are hit, rather then to hold long positions. The previous uptrend has been broken and it appears that a head and shoulders pattern is forming which would be a bearish set up. Next week I will be watching to see if we can close over both moving averages but if we would get back into the 1600's I will be buying QID
