The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9627 on 9/10/09, as the stock market popped on a better then expected initial jobless claims figure as well as a positive treasury auction. The Dow Jones Futures were up, down, then back up again in pre market but the market opened in the green and never really sold off. The price of Nautral Gas soared on a lower then expected inventory figure. Natural Gas was up 16% on very active trading. Stocks such as PetroQuest Energy Inc. (PQ) & Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK) really surged today. Tomorrow I will be paying close attention to the Michigan Sentiment index. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Friday. Oculus OCLS Stock up on Medicare News

September 10, 2009 - Shares of Oculus Innovative Sciences, Inc (OCLS) just popped about 10 minutes ago after the company has released positive medicare news on their skin wound gel. OCLS stock is trading at $2.92 Up 13%.

Oculus Innovative Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: OCLS), a biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets a family of products based upon the Microcyn® Technology platform, announced today that Noridian Administrative Services LLC, which is the pricing, data analysis and coding contractor for the Medicare program with respect to durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and medical supplies, has assigned a Medicare HCPCS code for Oculus' recently introduced Microcyn Skin & Wound HydroGel.

Apple Inc. AAPL Stock Upgraded at Deutsche Bank

September 10, 2009 - After the key event yesterday, Apple Inc. (AAPL) is getting an upgrade from Deutsche Bank today.

Price Target = $225

Deutsche Bank found Apple's iPod event in-line with expectations, but feels most were likely disappointed by the lack of video in the new Touch. The firm reiterates a Buy rating on the stock with a $225 price target.

I am personally watching out for when AAPL stock hits $190 as this is a major resistance level. During 2008, Apple Inc. (AAPL) hit and failed at $190 several times.

Vical VICL Swine Flu Vaccine Shows Promise

September 10, 2009 - Shares of Vical Incorporated (VICL) are set to open higher as the company has come out with some promising Swine Flu Vaccine Data today. As for VICL stock, its set to open Up 13% to $5.75

Vical Pandemic Influenza Vaccine Demonstrates Cross-reactivity Against California, Texas and Mexico H1N1 Strains

Vical Incorporated (Nasdaq:VICL) announced today that the company's DNA vaccine against A/H1N1 pandemic influenza (swine flu) has demonstrated robust immune responses in 100% of vaccinated animals against virus strains isolated from recent outbreaks in three distinct geographic locations -- California, Texas and Mexico.

Vical's plasmid DNA vaccine contains the H1 hemagglutinin gene sequence provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the swine-origin A/California/04/09 pandemic influenza virus, and after two doses produced immune responses well above the accepted protection threshold in 100% of vaccinated mice and rabbits using HI assays against the swine-origin A/California/07/09 x-179a, A/Texas/15/09 and A/Mexico/4108/09 influenza viruses. Hemagglutination inhibition (HI) titers were well above the protection threshold of 40, ranging from 320 to 2,560 in mice, and from 640 to 2,560 in rabbits against the California strain. Results against the Texas and Mexico strains were essentially equivalent, ranging from 640 to 2,560 in both mice and rabbits. Vical's vaccine would also be expected to provide similar robust immune responses against other swine-origin A/H1N1 influenza virus subtypes, supporting selection of a single A/H1N1 virus strain as the basis for the vaccine. YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) got a yes vote on labor concessions last night and this is causing shares to gap higher in pre market. Two key resistance levels to watch are $2.90 & $3.00. A close over $3 would be bullish and this would start a fresh breakout. After $3, the next major resistance levels are located between $3.35-$3.50. Dynavax DVAX Gets FDA Heplisav Hold Lifted

September 10, 2009 - After an 18 month hold for safety concerns, Dynavax Technologies Corporation (DVAX) told investors this morning that the FDA has lifted the Hold on Heplisav. Shares of DVAX are set to open at $2.50 Up 43%. What is Heplisav? Heplisav is a vaccine aimed at treating Hepititis B.

Dynavax Reports FDA Removes Clinical Hold on HEPLISAVTM Phase 3 Hepatitis B Vaccine


Dynavax Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq:DVAX) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has removed the clinical hold for the HEPLISAVTM Investigational New Drug (IND) application in individuals with chronic kidney disease. HEPLISAV is a Phase 3 investigational adult hepatitis B vaccine designed to provide increased, rapid protection with fewer doses than current licensed vaccines.

As a result of the FDA's decision, Dynavax expects to initiate a Phase 3 trial in chronic kidney disease patients in the near-term. Dynavax also plans to initiate a Phase 3 lot-to-lot consistency trial in adults over 40 years of age in early 2010.

"The success of our scientific approach to resolving the clinical hold on HEPLISAV allows us to resume development of our enhanced hepatitis B vaccine," commented Dino Dina, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Dynavax. "After achieving strong efficacy data in our prior Phase 3 pivotal trial, we are fully prepared to initiate the final registration trials for HEPLISAV."

Dynavax's global strategy as previously discussed with the FDA and the European Medicines Evaluation Agency (EMEA) is to develop HEPLISAV for populations that are less responsive to current licensed vaccines, including adults over 40 years of age, individuals with chronic kidney disease, and others. It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 9/10/09, are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.244% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.300%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.219%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, September 10, 2009. While the Overnight Libor stayed the same, the 1 Month dropped and the 3 month rose.

Stocks to Watch - 9/9/09 - Stock Market Ideas

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG broke up through the high of day Wednesday and tested resistance at $40 but failed. A break above $40 would be bullish going forward. If AIG does break above $40, the next resistance level to watch is $43.73.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup took a dive during the morning session on Wednesday but turned around and broke up through the high of day at at 11:30am EST. I took a small position and will add more when Citi closes over the 10 day moving average ( currently at $4.80 ). Check out my Citigroup Technical Analysis

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS broke up through $74.73 Wednesday and is going strong. The next major resistance level to watch out for is $80. I will be buying FAZ if FAS breaks back below $74.73. This is strictly for a quick trade only.

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS) - I bought shares of DRYS Wednesday after the stock broke back above $6.15 in early trading. I plan to hold these shares with a stop at $5.99 again. There is major resistance from $6.50-$7.00. A close above $7 would get me to buy even more DRYS stock. Keep an eye on this one in the coming days.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRI hit $0.70 resistance Wednesday but failed....I am watching for a break above $0.70 and a close over $0.75 which would be very bullish.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS finally broke up through $16.81 Wednesday....this is a target I have been talking about for months ever since the stock closed above $12. Pullbacks to the 10 day moving average continue to be a strong buy. The next major resistance level would be $20 per share.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Looking to buy CTIC for a trade if it breaks above $1.56

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - Resistance $2.15

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation continues to fail above the 10 day moving average which is now down to $17.20. As soon as the stock closes back over this level, I think you will see money pour back into the stock.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Resistance = $1.97

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Resistance = $1.72

VIVUS Inc. (VVUS) - Resistance $12.49
