The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11838 on 1/18/11, as the stock market surged despite worse than expected earnings out of Citigroup and a drop in share price for Apple. The Dow Jones continues to break out and hit new highs.

As far as trading went today, I traded Molycorp two times, both very profitable. Molycorp (MCP) hit a low of $44.01 and then broke out during the afternoon. Molycorp stock closed very strong today which should set up a gap higher tomorrow unless we see a large gap down in stock market futures. The next major resistance level to watch is the high from Friday which was $48.39. If Molycorp breaks above $48.39, we could see a possible retest of $50.
