Stocks to Watch - 10/12/09 - Stock Market Ideas

YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) - All was going well on Friday until this news was released: YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) faces a key test next week in its battle to steer clear of a bankruptcy-protection filing that may hinge on whether lenders to the U.S. trucking group maintain leniency on its covenants sown over the past year. ( Dow Jones Newswires ).

I took a small position Thursday but wanted to take a large position if the stock could break $5. So far, YRCW did not break $5. My stop loss order is set at $3.99 for next week. I don't want to be in this stock below $4.

Swine Flu Stocks: The following stocks took off on Friday morning due to a swine flu report - Keep an eye on these stocks next week - Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BCRX) - Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (SVA)

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM was upgraded Friday and the stock broke its recent downtrend. I am watching for a close above $71.24 which was the high the day after earnings. A close over this level would be very bullish. I also like pullbacks to the 10 day moving average located at $67.17.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG was trading back over the 10 day moving average on Friday $44.10 . There is strong resistance just below the $47.50 level. When AIG breaks $47.50, I will be getting back in. Until then, I will be waiting for another pullback under $38.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup is back below the 10 day moving average but only by a penny. The volume is dead and in order for this stock to move, you need big volume! During the last major move, we saw the stock trade over 1 billion shares per day. Resistance is now located at $4.72 and $4.80. Support is located at the 50 day moving average which is currently $4.38.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Still watching the $18.24 high on Bank of America Corp (BAC). I will buy when the stock closes over this level. BAC is starting to inch closer and closer each day.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - Watching resistance on FAS of $87.50, would be a buyer on a break above that level. If FAS breaks down through Friday's low of $83.16, I will be buying FAZ for a trade.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Support = $1.60 - Resistance = $1.86, $1.90
Fannie Mae (FNM) - Support = $1.32 - Resistance = $1.56, $1.60

Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) - SQNM was on fire Friday.....I am watching for a break above $3.96 which was the high on Sept 29th, the day when the company announced it fired several execuetives. A close above $3.96 would be huge for this stock.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9865 on 10/9/09, as the stock market soared on absolutely no news at all. The Dow Jones Futures started the morning higher but then turned lower right before the opening bell. Right after the open the stock market reversed and went higher and took a new leg up during the final two hours.

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 10/9/09 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.245% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.284%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.195%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, October 9, 2009. While the Overnight & 3 month libor rates stayed the same, the 1 month libor went higher.

Research In Motion RIMM Stock Upgrade

October 9, 2009 - Shares of Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) are set to open pre market in the $69's this morning as RW Baird is out with a key Upgrade.

RW Baird thinks the recent selling has been overdone and views the weakness as a buying opportunity.

The firm reiterates their $84 Price Target on the stock.

What am I watching?

I have been watching a key level on Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) for a sign of a trend reversal. The day after RIMM reported earnings, the stock hit a high of $71.24 and then pulled back under the $70 support level. A close back over $71.24 would be very bullish. I am watching this closely.
