TVIX Drops in Pre Market - TVIX Falls to $8 - 3/23/12

TVIX is dropping again today, March 23, 2012. TVIX was subject to a huge fall on Thursday and is now trading between $8-$8.50 in pre market this morning. Credit Suisse made the product and will be issuing new shares on a limited basis. Some analysts say the Net Asset Value (NAV) is around $8.50 per share. If the premium came out of TVIX yesterday, who's to say the ETN can't trade at a discount to NAV? If you are looking to buy TVIX, I would take a shot between $7.50-$8 on a dip today. More.....

TVIX - Don't Buy TVIX During Rally

Note to myself, for future reference. Don't buy TVIX for hedging purposes during a large up day. A less risky trade would be to wait to buy TVIX on the morning after on a pop.

After a large 500 point rally on the Dow Jones on Wednesday, the market attempted to go up again in the first hour of trading on Thursday. This would be the best time to take a shot at buying TVIX. TVIX just rallied from $43.20 to $44. Even if you have to pay up $1, at least you will have an exit point at $43.20 on the downside.

The rally now looks like it is running out of steam and TVIX is staging it's first major rebound in the past 24 hours. Let's see if TVIX reverses from here or drops back down through $43.
