The Dow Jones closed 2011 up 5.6% while the S&P 500 finished flat. 2012 will be a volatile year with large rallies and several large declines. I feel we will end the year around 1320 on the S&P 500.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12294 on 12/23/11, as the stock market rallied on low volume which is typical right before Christmas. Next week will be interesting because the Italian 10 year bond rate spiked above 7% and we will see a debt auction of 2.5 billion Euro next week. While the market is ignoring this right now, reality will set in 2012 if this yield doesn't drop. I started buying TZA today in anticipation of a large sell-off in the coming weeks.

If we spike above 7%, expect selling to hit Wall St. I can still see a rally back up near 1258 but I would be starting to short up there.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12103 on 12/20/11, as the stock market rallied hard to the upside. Today was a broad based rally and shows us that there was huge buying of all stocks in the market today. I look for the S&P 500 to rally back to the 1258-1260 level to see if we can close back above the 200 day moving average. I bought some Bank of America (BAC) stock today and still hold TNA. I have a tight stop loss on BAC currently located at $5.04. I am also looking to start a penny stock fund and am keeping an eye on DROP right now.

Gold and Silver both tanked as the Euro dropped and the US Dollar gained. We also saw money come out of oil prices. The Italian 10 year bond yield spike back to 6.80% on Wednesday. The danger zone is 7% or higher.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11998 on 12/8/11, as the stock market tanked after the European Summit looks like it will be a huge disappointment. The ECB will not be providing a bailout which is very bearish for Europe right now. There were high expectations in the market for something big to come out and so far, nothing. Look for more selling tomorrow unless the IMF makes a big announcement.

I am now looking for the S&P 500 to retest 1200 at the very least. I will continue to trade TNA/TZA.

Rumors continue to surface on what will happen on early Friday morning out of Europe. No matter what the outcome is, the Europe crisis will continue with the best case scenario being a nasty recession. If Europe does in fact print more money, load up on Silver and Gold. I currently own AGQ in my long term account at $56.24.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 12019 on 12/2/11, as the stock market traded flat ahead of the most important week for Europe as far as fiscal reform. The EU summit will wrap up on Friday in hopes of announcing a bold plan to stop the contagion on the European crisis. Whether or not it will be to late will be a debate saved for early 2012, but Wall St. is going to be expecting big things out of the EuroZone. Anything less will cause another leg down in the markets.
