The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8739 on 6/10/09, as the stock market went down on a weak bond offering where the Government sold 19 billion worth of 10 year treasury notes. The Dow Jones Futures started the day higher as the Chrysler/Fiat deal went through but stocks quickly sold off after the open. Oil prices surged above $71 a barrel as inflation fears and the weak dollar continue to drive commodities higher. Mortgage Rates continue to rise as the 30 year fixed is near 6% again. A month ago, the 30 year fixed was trading near 4.65%. This rise in interest rates could really hamper the bottom in the housing market.

Once again, the buyers stepped up to the plate in the late half hour of trading. The Dow Jones went from down 95 to down 24 at the close. Mutual Funds who are under invested and missed the recent 3 month rally are forced to step in and buy. For the past two weeks, the pattern has been to sell the open, buy the close. This type of action is very common in a bull market. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Tomorrow.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 6/10/09, are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.321%. & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.639%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.264%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, June 10, 2009. The overnight and 3 month libor rates went down while the 1 month libor rate stayed the same.

Stock Market Futures

The Dow Jones continues to trade over and bounce off the 200 day moving average which is very bullish. The 10 day moving average is now up to 8638 which is a nice short term support level. Watch for the Dow to break through 8840 which is resistance and I then expect a retest of 9000.

I'd be buying pullbacks all the way down to 8500 but a close below that area would be bearish and I'd have to re access. For More Technical Analysis - Go Here

Stocks to Watch - 6/10/09 - Stock Market Ideas

GeoPharma Inc. (GORX) - GORX stock exploded higher on Tuesday with no news but very heavy volume. At 2pm, GORX traded 1.3 million shares vs 25,000 normal daily volume. Keep an eye on this stock Wednesday.

China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources, Inc. (SHZ) - SHZ also exploded on huge volume but no news - shares of SHZ were up 129% Tuesday.

MDRNA, Inc. (MRNA) - MRNA stock was a huge mover on Tuesday after FDA approval for their nasal spray. Shares of MRNA gapped higher and then fell through out the day. Watch for a break back above $3.00 as a sign of strength in this stock.

Cardica Inc. (CRDC) - CRDC shares are getting a huge bounce on no news. This company makes an attatchment for the Da Vinci system from Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (ISRG)

Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (SAY) - Satyam stock was up 32% as the India computer company revealed profits and the shares in India hit a 26% limit and I believe was halted until tomorrow.

Lear Corp. (LEA) - The auto suppliers are requesting more Government aid....shares of LEA have exploded higher on the news.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Direxion Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAS stock continues the huge uptrend since March 2009. FAs once again has support at $10 as well as $9.82. Look for a break out if FAS breaks back above $11. FAS looks like it could break $4 for the first time.

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock is back testing support between $3.32-$3.34. Tuesday's low was $3.38 so this is something to keep an eye on. Weakness in Citigroup shares could make the stock market nervous again.

Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc. ( SPNG ) - I continue to watch this OTC penny stock. SPNG shares have been on fire as the company continues to release positive news. Support is at $0.115 and $0.10 while resistance is at $0.155

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB) - I have been mentioning HEB every single day for the past two weeks because traders and investors are waiting for an FDA decision on the companies Chronic Fatigue Syndrome drug Ampligen. Expect shares of HEB to soar or crumble on this news.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - CTIC stock has really settled down after an enormous run over the past several months. Look for the next positive news event to move shares of CTIC back above $2. All major pullbacks have been bought heavily.

Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) - Shares of SQNM exploded higher on no news during the afternoon hours on Tuesday. You can't help but notice the volume so good news might be on the way.

General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM), now GMGMQ or GMGMQ.PK is soaring - shares are back near $1.50 after hitting $0.50 last week.
