The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10414 on 12/21/09, as the stock market jumped which started on an upgrade on Intel Corporation (INTC). The Dow Jones Futures were up around 40 in pre market after Barclay's came out and slapped a buy on Intel Corporation (INTC). INTC stock was up 4% at one point during the morning but slipped 1% throughout the trading day.

We also saw a few deals today which included Sanofi-Aventis (SNY) buying Chattem Inc. (CHTT) & Bucyrus International Inc. (BUCY) buying a unit of Terex Corp. (TEX).

All three of these events caused the stock market to push towards 2009 highs. Tomorrow, we will see some key economic data such as existing home sales.
