The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 25,436 on 6/29/20, as the stock market rebounded.  At this point, the stock market is all over the place so just expect more volatility through the rest of the year.  The Dow Jones will have major support between 24,500-25,000 so this range is a strong buy for the long term.  As for my long term investments, I own Tesla (TSLA), Beyond Meat (BYND), Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), Virgin Galactic (SPCE), Hyliion (SHLL > HYLN), and Mullen USA (NETE).  Check out my Top Stock Picks 2021.

Stocks to Buy 6/30/20 June 30, 2020

June 30, 2020 - The stock market soared early Monday but the volatility will continue.  Below are some amazing stocks to buy if you are looking to put money to work or looking to switch into high quality growth stocks.

Beyond Meat (BYND) - Beyond Meat (BYND) pulled back to the $125 level and is down $42 in a few weeks.  While my $150 price target has been met, I was looking to purchase more below $130 and I did just that Monday morning.  All eyes will be on earnings in four weeks.   More on BYND.....

Tesla (TSLA) - Tesla (TSLA) spiked back to the $990's as we get ready for Q2 deliveries this week.  Tesla was bought up quickly on the last drop to $925 so expect this level to act as support again going forward.  Tesla (TSLA) will soon begin a really strong Q3 and I'm expecting shares to hit $1200 in 2020.  More on TSLA....

Virgin Galactic (SPCE) - Virgin Galactic (SPCE) continues to form a base around $15.  I love this stock long term and I'm expecting more big news later this fall as the company gets ready to send passengers to sub-orbit.  SPCE is a strong buy below $15 for the long term.

Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) - GBTC is forming a base after the Bitcoin halving event cut the new supply in half.  I'm bullish on Bitcoin and GBTC for the rest of 2020.  GBTC remains a strong buy on all major pullbacks.

Hyliion (SHLL) - Hyliion (SHLL) will IPO and begin trading under the ticker symbol HYLN in about three months.  I purchased this stock around $18 last week as I view shares very cheap compared to Nikola (NKLA) which has no sales.  I sold a little bit in the $30's on Monday but will hold the rest for the HYLN IPO.

Other stocks to buy and hold for the long term - Slack (WORK), Amazon (AMZN), Chipotle (CMG), Starbucks (SBUX), Apple (AAPL), Disney (DIS), Netflix (NFLX).

Tortoise Acquisition (SHLL) Stock Hits Record High

June 29, 2020 - Tortoise Acquisition Corp. (SHLL) stock is set to hit a record high today after a 33% rally on Friday.  Shares of SHLL are gapping up to $27 on Monday, up 10% in pre market trading.

Tortoise Acquisition (SHLL) has been one of the hottest stocks on Wall St. recently after the company announced merger plans with Hyliion.  The two companies are expected to merge in September 2020 and form an IPO.  The new company will be called Hyliion and trade under the ticker symbol "HYLN."

After the red hot Nikola (NKLA) IPO recently, Hyliion actually has a product and sales and is only trading at 1/5 of valuation of NKLA stock.

Novavax (NVAX) Stock Upgraded to Buy - $101 Price Target

June 29, 2020 - Shares of Novavax (NVAX) have been upgraded to buy with a $101 price target at H.C Wainwright.  The firm sees the Covid-19 vaccine NVX-CoV2373 potentially doing $400 million in annual sales. 

Novavax (NVAX) stock was just $5 in early 2020 but has soared to new heights in the last few months.  NVAX has been public for nearly 25 years but has always been a failure.  Could this time be different?

Tesla (TSLA) Q2 2020 Deliveries in Focus

June 27, 2020 - As the stock market enters a new week, Tesla (TSLA) investors will be focused on Q2 vehicle deliveries.  With the Fremont plant closed for roughly two months, you would think Q2 would be an absolute disaster but this may not prove to be the case.

Initial estimates had Tesla coming in with 60,000-65,000 Q2 deliveries but things appear to have changed in the last three weeks.  Apparently, deliveries have been really picking up toward the end of June and when you combine China to the estimates, Wall St. is now looking for over 80,000.

If Tesla (TSLA) reports anything over 90,000, the stock will explode to a new record high.  With three days left to go in the quarter, the final push is being made as we speak!

Lemonade (LMND) Stock IPO - AI Bots Replace Insurance Brokers

June 27, 2020 - Artificial Intelligence insurance company Lemonade plans to IPO this week under the ticker symbol LMND.  LMND stock should be very hot as there will only be 11 million shares released in the float and as long as the stock market cooperates, this one should rally in the months ahead.

Lemonade is rebuilding insurance from the ground up on a digital substrate and an innovative business model. By leveraging technology, data, artificial intelligence, contemporary design, and behavioral economics, they believe they are making insurance more delightful, more affordable, more precise, and more socially impactful. To that end, Lemonade has built a vertically-integrated company with wholly-owned insurance carriers in the United States and Europe, and the full technology stack to power them.

Lemonade IPO Details:

IPO Price Range: $24-$26
Float Shares: 11 Million (underwriters can purchase up to an additional 1.65 million)
Total Shares Outstanding: 54,896,246 shares (or 56,546,246 shares if the underwriters exercise)
2019 Sales vs 2018 Sales:  63.8 Million vs 21.2 Million
2020 Sales Q1: 25.3 Million

Based on the details above, Lemonade (LMND) is growing fast and there is a limited supply of stock hitting the market.  As long as it doesn't open to high, I plan to at least trade this stock when it opens this week.

Hyliion (SHLL > HYLN) Stock IPO Next Nikola (NKLA)?

June 27, 2020 - If you missed the news last week, Hyliion, currently with a ticker symbol of SHLL, will IPO in three months with a ticker symbol of HYLN.  Hyliion is seeking approval to merge with Tortoise Acquisition Corp. (SHLL) which is the new way to IPO. Tortoise Acquisition Corp. (SHLL) will then become Hyliion and the ticker symbol will change to HYLN.

A SPAC, or Special Purpose Acquisition Company, is a way for private companies to go public without the large fees and IPO roadshows.  VectoIQ Acquisition Corp. (VTIQ) recently merged with Nikola Motor (NKLA) and investors are now valuing this company, with no sales, at $24 billion or $66 per share.

Hyliion is a startup maker of diesel-electric truck components.  The company already has sales and has a deal with Penske.  Hyliion upfits Class 8 trucks to run on dual fuel sources. It is providing three of its 6X4HE heavy-duty models to Penske Truck Leasing. Hyliion investor and electrification partner, Dana Inc (DAN) showed the first of the trucks in March at the 2020 American Trucking Associations' Technology & Maintenance Council meeting in Atlanta.

The Company hybridizes the trailer portion of a tractor trailer combination and uses regenerative braking to capture power when the trailer is slowing down, as well as reuses it to help power the trailer up hills and improve fuel savings.
