The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10092 on 10/19/09, as the stock market surged on higher commodity prices. The Dow Jones Futures were bleeding red overnight but by the time we woke up, global markets turned our futures around. When US stocks opened for trading, a surge in commodity prices caused commodity stocks to move higher. Some of the best performing commodity stocks today were: Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX) - Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, Inc. (POT) - CNOOC Ltd. (CEO) - ConocoPhillips (COP).
Tonight we will receive earnings out of Apple Inc. (AAPL) & Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN) while we will get a look into earnings out of Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) & Regions Financial Corp.
