Art Hogan came on CNBC 12/12/08 and gave some comments on his opinion on the stock market right now. When you look at what has happened today, there are two stories, the Madoff story and the auto bailout story. The best possible scenario would be to use the tarp funds...the timing is key, would like to see White House come out today and say they will be doing something. You don't want to put a band aid on this and leave it for the next administration.
I think you remain defensive in this market, buy health care, consumer staples like Clorox ( CLX ) that will help you ride out the next few quarters which are going to be ugly.
